The Wedding Venue and Reception
Things to think about before you come to see us:
Theme and Style
What are the surroundings like? Is it formal or informal, classic or modern? What style and colour of dress are you planning and what mood are you trying to create?
How much do you want to spend?
We won't expect you to have a precise budget prepared, but a realistic figure will help us to suggest appropriate types, styles and quantities of flowers.
The colour scheme
Are there any colours which ought to be included or avoided? What colour are the bridesmaids dresses or grooms waistcoat, or event the tablecloths at the reception? If you have any material swatches, please bring them with you.
Shapes and sizes
What age and height are the bridesmaids? Are there any other attendants to think about, e.g. page boys and ushers?
Hairstyles
If you or your bridesmaids are having flowers in your hair, their hairstyle may affect how the flowers can be fixed and what style of head-dress will be appropriate.
The wedding venue
How large is it and what is the lighting like? If the wedding is going to be held in a church, synagogue, mosque or temple, are there any particular customs or requirements that we should know about?
The reception
How large is the room or marquee? Do you need table arrangements?
Thank you gifts
Flowers also make and ideal 'thank you' gift to bridesmaids, mothers and others who have helped you with all the planning and organisation that goes into your big day. You can ask us to arrange these for the day or to send them whilst you're on honeymoon.
